  1. French bulldogs aren’t French– As shocking as it may sound, it is true that French bulldog is very French by nature but are not of the French origin. They are actually of British origin and were initially used for bull-baiting, a sport which was banned in England.
  2. Original Frenchie Look- Most people know how a Frenchie looks like now but when the first time they were started being considered a breed they didn’t always have the ‘bat ears’ and were more like an English bulldog who had a rose shape to their ears.
  3. Bad swimmers- Although dogs are considered great swimmers because of their genes, A French bulldog does not know how to swim. Even if they swim a little they are horrible at it and will without a doubt drown. This is because of their anatomy due to which they have to tilt their head far back to prevent water from going inside their body which causes imbalance.
  4. Health issues– The main health issue of these dogs is related to their facial structure which gives a lot of breathing issues to them. Certain airlines have banned the flying of these dogs due to this reason. Even a little trouble in breathing can bring up a deathly situation.
  5. Kid- friendly dog- The personality of a Frenchie dog makes them a great companion for adults as well as kids. They are full of energy and very playful and never get tired of playing which makes them suitable for kids. Frenchies are also highly affectionate and will take good care of the children.
  6. Less exercise- Not just humans, even dogs need exercises to stay fit and healthy but Frenchies aren’t exercising material. They won’t act as the best companion if one needs to go for a rigorous round of exercise.
